ALT EGO will be on stage at the prestigious Café Opera – one of the top nightclubs in Stockholm, Sweden.
This year keeps getting better and better!
After launching ALT EGO earlier this year, we’ve experienced so many career highlights. These include releasing our debut album, playlisting our hit single “Get Wild” featuring Amy Tjasink on radio and TV, featuring on the top music charts, performing at our first outdoor festival and signing our first international record deal.
And we’re proud to announce more good news as we’re currently in Sweden preparing for our first major gig this weekend.
To say we’re excited is an understatement!
We recently toured Holland and Croatia for our mid-year holiday in July and it was amazing to experience the European music and party life in the crowd. We now have the opportunity to perform to an international audience at one of Sweden’s top nightclubs.
The opportunity came our way after being spotted during one of our weekly performances at the One and Only Hotel at the V&A Waterfront. The organisers loved our sound and they booked us for the gig a few days later.
While we will be excited to perform on violin and guitar at Café Opera, this will be our first time DJing live at a major event.
Yes… we’ve added a brand new element to our stage performance as we’ll be making our mark as ALT EGO DJs. We’ve been preparing a set that includes a fusion of DJing and instrumental sounds, offering a new sound but maintaining the same foundations that makes AE Music special.
We’re excited to learn more about the European crowd and how our music is received in a foreign environment. The great thing is the fact that Europeans love unique sounds, and that’s something we definitely push for.
We’re also excited to travel again… you learn so much when you explore new countries and experience new cultures. Travelling has definitely opened our minds and widened our vision. It’s amazing to think of all the places our music has taken us – it’s been a journey that’s already exceeded our expectations since day one, when quitting our full-time jobs to become musicians.
Still crazy to think we’re in Stockholm, Sweden… you can definitely expect us to fly the Cape Town and South African flag proudly this weekend!
