ALT EGO did an exclusive reveal of the “Embrasse Moi” music video at the Sunglass Hut store launch at The Boatshed, V&A Waterfornt, creating plenty of hype ahead of the official launch on Wednesday!
What a privilege being apart of the amazing launch of the new Sunglass Hut store! The new venue looks amazing and pushes boundaries in terms of design and customer experience. This is why Sunglass Hut is such a great partner as we strive to achieve the same when it comes to our music.
We were part of an amazing entertainment line-up, which included Arno Carstens, Jimmy Nevis, Vicky Sampson, Nur Abrahams, Fancy Galada, Craig Lucas and so many more talented South African artists. It was a line-up ready to entertain a diverse crowd at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre. And as you’d expect, the show lived up to its expectations as everyone played their role in what turned out to be a legendary concert.
The show had nostalgic moments… from “Welcome to Cape Town” by Nur Abrahams to “Weeping” performed by Arno Carstnens and Vicky Sampson’s “My African Dream”. It also featured South Africa’s golden boy Craig Lucas, while Jimmy Nevis brought the Cape Town pride with “7764”. We brought the party, hyping up the crowd with a mix of our singles “Get Wild” and “Embrasse Moi”.
The main highlight of our night was performing live to the Cape Town crowd, who gave us a great reception. It’s always heart-warming when receiving love from our own. We managed to get people out of their chairs and dancing to our original music, while everyone enjoyed the exclusive view of the “Embrasse Moi” music video.
The video opened the show and was quite the spectacle, attractively showcasing our new single as well as the Mirror trend, which is the #MadeForSummer theme for Sunglass Hut.
The music video is a true reflection of ALT EGO – very dimensional, a little futuristic, up beat and a bit dark. The shots really capture the feeling of the song and translates the energy and fun we had filming it.
Tonight we unlock summer at the @SunglassHutSA Boatshed store launch at the V&A Amphitheatre at 8pm.

We will do the official launch of the “Embrasse Moi” music video on Wednesday, 22 November 2017. You can expect lots of mirrors, roof top shots and AE showing more than just the violin and guitar. The music video also features the beautiful Lindy Lin.
All in all, it was great to share the stage with the amazing acts on the night, as well as meet and catch up with them backstage. It’s always nice to hear how every artist is growing and achieving new milestones, which means the South African music industry is growing in the right direction. It’s great to be a part of this growth.
As always, we have a busy weekend, with gigs at the One and Only (Friday) and The Mojo Market (Saturday). In between, we will be performing at three private gigs.
Yes, we are set for a busy festive season for ALT EGO and Acoustic Element!
